I call bullshit on the story. It is manufactured.
No three says "I can run and eat to my heart's content here." Come the f*** on now. I was a child genuis and I didn't say anything nearly that articulate when I was three.

The only things that are incredible about a 3 year-old running all day is that there's a sadistic judo coach out there who makes him do it and that the BBC would report on the subject without pointing out that making a toddler run is an act of torture.
well either the judo coach paid for his food and his life or he would be starving and almost dead somewhere.

Lots of weird stuff goes on in India... I'm skeptical to say the least...
he's actually an American kid, but his job was outsourced
Check out that photo in the article. Does that look like he's anxious to run?

haha nice.
He will end up standing around with hands on his hips or behind his back thinking he is important.
India has 1 billon people.....5th of the world population
ONE BILLON PEOPLE...but no Track and Field athletes in the Olympic's.....or soccer, BaseBall, BB, swimming, etc etc...what do they with their RR time?.....I quess have children....
I guess it takes a three old to be the best T & F athlete
ps....if you use be phone clerk and longer have a job it is because someone india has it....sad but true
But no one really wants to be a phone clerk like no one really wants to be a dishwasher or a lawn mower.
I think Nike should invest in a running program for India.. A billion people... That's one heck of a market! The downside would be competing with all of the black market Nike knock offs......... In all seriousnes. It is kind of crazy to think that they do'nt have any running programs good enough to come up with a few noteworthy athletes....
Having been in Asia for the last 8 years, I am saying "TOTAL BULLSHIT" about the BBC article.
Unless the BBC reporter witnessed the 30 miles of running a day (for at least a week), I think that this story is hogwash.
Heck, that ain't nothing. My 17-year old, when he was 2-years old once beat me at the finish in a 50K. I think his time was 3:15:25. I never forced him to run. In fact there were times when I had to lock him in the house or he would kill me during my workouts. He has arthritis now and can barely run. And gosh, when we go out for a jog now he always seems to crap on the sidewalk. Can't seem to break him of that.

You're talking about your dog, right?
I just read another article...A three-year-old from Pakistan set the world record in the marathon for the 0-5 age group division...5:45. An American three-year-old was with him through mile 20, then faded to a 6:07 finish. When will the American boys get it right?
I don't believe the story. And I also don't believe that kid is 3.

do you remember bobby anju? bronze medal in the women's LJ in 2003 Worlds.
And India's national sports are field hockey (men too) and cricket. they're quite good.
THEY HAVE ONE BILLION PEOPLE!!!!!
that is 100,000,000 ten times.....that is crazy!
and you can only come up that!!!!....that is so sad!!!!!
The number one sport in India is cricket, far and away. Outside of cricket, there's not a whole lot to Indian Athletics. Athletes like Anju Bobby George and Sriram Singh are rare ones.
I agree. It's a hoax. That's not three-year-old talk.
Also, three-year-olds don't have that kind of perspective.
