15 weeks to goal indoor meet. Senior guys in HS, gonna run low-50s mpw. Running the 800/1000 and the 1600.
Weeks 1-3: Build back mileage, 4x30m flies and 6x100m strides at least once/week each (long run every Sunday)
4-6: Base with weekly hill reps and 20min tempo
7-9: Replace tempo run with longer intervals, add in some *easy* race pace work (ex: 2x4x200m @ 800 pace with 90s rest and 2:30min between sets)
10-12: Keep doing longer intervals, remove hill reps and start doing *harder* race pace workouts (ex: 8x400m @ 1600 pace with 60s rest)
13-15: Taper and "peaking" workouts, end of week 15 is race day. Remove long run the week before.
I have no coach. Largely came up with this plan based off previous knowledge. Please give any advice you have and any changes you think I could make!
