Anyone tried it? How did it go? Is this legal or can it get you disqualified?

Not sure why this would be all that different than taking a caffeinated gel.
Sounds like all that carbonation would give you a stomach ache and a case of the burps.
Like Monster Zero Calorie drinks before race, but Apollo Caffeine gum or Run Gum works awesome for a little energy boost, without the water and carbonation, too!
I drink Red Bull before races all the time. A little less carbonated than Monster. Works great.
The only downside is it can make you a little anxious if you don’t eat with it.
Coffee would probably be a healthier choice. Better try the Monster before a few workouts first.
I'm just not sure if the taurine and L-whateveritis and stuff in Monster would have a different effect, but yeah I'd imagine you're right.
Someone else mentioned the carbonation maybe being a problem too. I've never had Red Bull but if it's less carbonated I'll try it. Thanks
I used to slam 2 Red Bull’s before high jumping back in the day. A bit different obviously.
Well yeah, it's totally different. You cheated by using Red Bull to give you wings. That's not legal legal in high jump.
I knew a guy who drank a couple of those pops and during the race fell into the adjacent canal by the path....was dehydrated. I don't think caffeine replaces well thought out planning for races.
I wouldn’t go for the carbonated, most sugary ones but “Monster Hydro” is awesome before running. Hydrive energy water is a good one as well.
i've run the best races of my life on monster + ritalin
I tried 5hr energy . My heart felt like it was going to explode. I ran a 30 sec PR

Same here. I took a 5 hour energy before a 5k and felt like I was on the verge of a heart attack after the race. This was when I was 19

....and are about 1/400th of the cost. I average about 100mg. of caffeine before every run (same amount as a good cup of coffee) and a bottle of 100 tablets at 200mg. each lasts me almost a year (about 250 runs). Total cost for the year......under $10.
Hello! With caffeine, a lot of sugar, you are likely to have a heart and stomach. Look at the composition, it will not give you as much strength as it will make worse. In addition, sugar has a fairy short effect.

Well that took a turn I didn't expect.

I noticed that Jakob Ingebrigtsen was downing some Red Bull pre race about 2-3 years ago but it seems the family is now sponsored by some Norwegian rival.
