1. AC/DC. L-A-M-E
2. Taylor Swift. Why I gotta be so mean.
3. U2. You too? No, not me. Pretentious Bono.
4. Motley Crue. What's worse, the hairspray or the heroin?
5. REM. Oh how Michael Stipe is annoying!

Really? I'm not a fan of all their stuff, but there are some GREAT songs from those two bands.
Blue Collar Man - Styx
Lady - Styx
Renegade - Styx
Urgent - Foreigner
Cold As Ice - Foreigner
Hot Blooded - Foreigner
Feels Like The First Time - Foreigner
Whatever.
Grateful Dead
The Beatles
Phish
Aerosmith
Journey
1) Nickelback - Not really my time, but I gave them a listen because everyone said how bad they sucked, and I kind of have to agree, so I don't really HATE them, but I agree they suck hard. I can't think of a popular bad that is worse.
2) Pink Floyd - Meh. I've hear people say you have to listen to them while high, and I've never done illegal drugs, so I guess they just aren't my thing. I like Another Brick In The Wall a little bit, but of course I'm not supposed to like THAT one of theirs. I don't like any of their other stuff.
3) Phish - Not really into the jam band thing. I might be into PLAYING it, but not listening to it.
4) Grateful Dead - Meh.
5) Loverboy - Just never got into their songs.

This was the TORTURE I was subjected to growing up in the 70's from my older brother's record collection!

I guess your taste is all in your mouth. :)
Styx is Led Zep for females.

The Beatles do not belong on this otherwise truly HATED band list. In my ever so humble opinion.

Music taste is VERY subjective.
Some of those listed as "hated" I like a lot. There is no reason to argue the points either way.
I could piggy back on some already listed but wanted to throw out something new. I cringe whenever I hear Bad Company. Terrible lyrics, musical quality, vocals...... To me they sound like a bad garage band. There is nothing I like about their music yet I know there will be someone out there who loves it.
Bieber
Hanson
Miley Cyrus
Tiffany
Starland Vocal Band
The Eagles - bland, average faux-country band, but their popularity makes them rock's anti-Christ.
Motley Crue - do they even play instruments? They are like KISS without a listenable song.
Queen - excessive prog-geek rock - "Bohemian Rhapsody" is an anthem to really lame people, but in reality its the most convoluted and annoying novelty-gimmick song of all time.
Creed/Nickelback/Coldplay/Radiohead and about a half-dozen other bands that I suspect are really just one bunch of studio musicians cranking out mulch under different names.
Talking Heads/R.E.M. types - I recognize there may be talent, but that attitude that everything is some high-brow intellectual joke that only some people are sophisticated enough to understand is lame as all hell.
Endless more . . . . . . most rock kind of sucks, few artists shine through.
In purely factual terms the Dead were by far the most hated of any band. Also possibly the most loved.
If Jerry hadn't died, this could have led to a war. Fortunately the hippies lost their leader and faded away.
The worst band in All of God's Creation:
Air Supply
Flagpole - I'm calling you out on Phish. Not in a bad way as we all have different taste of course. I just get the sense you not that far from where I was with them a few years ago, until ... a good friend of mine had me take an honest look and I started listening in the office as background noise. It was a process for me and while I am not and never will be full on phish head, these guys are simply unbelievable when it comes to improvisation. Have a listen (more than once if you dare) at your leisure sir and get them off your bottom 5 . . .

Agree with this list, but Radiohead!? No way! Ground breaking, affecting and interestingly
I would like to nominate the Beatles, The Who, Kid Rock, almost every big hair group, and the Shins
