I'm a guy, and whenever I wear short shorts (or anything with less than a 5" inseam), the shorts seem to hike up between my legs, which leads to my legs chafing against one another. This sucks because I want to wear short shorts but I can't comfortably. Lubricating salves don't work, I've tried Body Glide. I've tried switching to half tights but any compression/tight garments start to pinch in my groin when I run more than a few minutes in them, which is very uncomfortable and often quickly becomes painful.
I feel that the short shorts issue is due to my thighs being too big, though I've never considered myself a large person. By all accounts, I'm fairly skinny and in decent shape: 5'10", usually around 150-160 lbs, and prs of 16:48 for 5k and 4:41 for 1600 most recently. I can't say I have a perfect runners' physique, but I'm not exactly a powerlifter.
Has anyone ever had similar issues or does anyone have possible solutions for these? I'd appreciate any help I could get.
