Nico's also racing Casey Clinger, it'll be interesting to see a battle between the 2 former NXN champions.
What's the NCAA 5k record for true freshmen? I'd imagine a 13:30 would put him pretty high up on that list.
Reading these start lists has restored will to live for the next month. Should be some good races!

It looks like they dropped every single name on this list. It almost looks made up, that’s how good it is.
The times are silly for many of the entrants. 90% of the sub 27:30 guys won't do it.
Top 2 NCAA 10k guys Kurgat and Mantz missing. It says HS also but not on the schedule.

It's official. I must be getting old and cynical.
You type this exciting post and yet as I'm looking at these heats I'm thinking, "I definitely have never even heard of half of the guys in sub-13:30 heat. What about the sub-13:15 heat? We've got a big thread hyping a guy for running in the B heat of a race?"
Before I go too negative, I think it's an amazing thing that his race is scheduled and taking place. Kudos to the organizers and to the Internet for making this possible 25 years ago, this thing wouldn't exist.
But it's the year 2020, 13:30 is no longer a great time. I spent about 20 minutes trying to find the PRs of the guys listed in the sub-13:30 and sub 13:15 races. In the sub 13:30 race, I see one guy with a PB under 13:40. No one has broken 13:30. So if I"m Vegas, I put the over under of # of sub-13:30s in that race at 1.5.
For the sub-13:15 race, similarly, no one in hte field has broken 13:30 and only 1 has broken 13:20. Vegas would put the over under of # of sub 13:15s at 1.5 as well.
