2 questions:
1. What high level universities in the US have a good middle distance program, by middle distance I mean specific colleges where the 800/400m runners do not have to run cross country. One good example is Georgetown, they let athletes for example Joe White train for indoors in the winter instead of making him run XC. As for times I run a 1:50 800m but I believe I have great potential as I have only been training for 3.5 years. I know this 800 time isn't going to be the best in the country, but from inspection I think I will fit on any high level program nicely.
2.I was wondering if I could be able to run in the NCAA in graduate school.
Hypothetical scenario, I attended a UK university for 3 years (September 2017 - August 2020) and I am now 21 years old.
1)Would I be eligible to participate in the NCAA for track and field if I went to a US college?
2)How many years of eligibility would I have?
3)Would I be allowed to compete or would a PhD+college sport not be allowed ie the workload is too high?
I understand this is not a common scenario as most student athletes would have used all their eligibility before grad school unless they got injured, also most grad students are probably not PhD students. Hope you can help and thanks in advance!
