I will be visiting Portland/Beaverton in a few weeks (staying at Hilton Garden Inn off 26). Looking for good run routes (preferably some trails) btw 6-12 miles. Do Willow Creek or Tualtin Hills parks have trails?

Come on, Forest Park of course!
If you're asking about Tualatin Hills park then I'm guessing that you're probably staying near there. If so, you can create a few good runs from there because the Nike World Headquarters are just nearby (entrance on Murray just past Walker Rd.). You can create a lot of good loops and kind of get lost at the Nike campus even though its kind of small. Tualatin Hills doesn't have many trails but it is still a nice place to run. You can get creative and go back and forth between the two areas. I would normally do up to 10 miles at Nike/TH. If you have access to a car however, I would definitely recommend heading towards Forest Park. There are several places to enter the park and nearly all of them have maps of the park and its trails. It's soft, shaded and some of the best trails in the country. Best entrance would definitely be off Thurman St. however. When going west on Thurman, the road will turn residential and eventually dead end, this is the easiest and best entrance to Forest Park. Best of luck...hope this helps.
I live and run in Portland & Beaverton. If you're interested in information or to run together, e-mail me.

Did you run in Portland area high schools?
Just a suggestion, but when choosing running routes in the Beaverton and Portland area, please choose other venues besides the Nike campus. The campus is meant for nike employees only, to use at their leisure, and is not a place that is just open to the public to use anytime. I am sorry, but the campus has been abused by the public in the past, and this is not it's purpose. There are plenty of places to run. Also, I ask that other posters on here take consideration in not telling people to go run around the nike campus. It is a place of business, just like anyplace else. The adidas campus in portland is the same way, it is not open to the public to just use. Thank you.
Actually, I don't think you're correct regarding the Nike trail. I work on the Nike campus and there are no signs saying the trail is not open to the public - at least I don't think there are. Maybe I'm wrong? The trail is named after Jeff Johnson and I'm quite confident he'd laugh at the notion of the trail being for Nike employees only. Same goes for the track. Enjoy but be respectful.
If you venture south into Beaverton, there is also Greenway Park, which is just west of the 217 freeway. The bulk of it is between Hall Blvd. and Scholls Ferry Road. In fact, if you get to Scholls Ferry Road, there is a running store called Portland Running Company that backs up to the park and is located on Scholls Ferry Road. There are different loops you can run in the park and the paths are asphalt (but you can run right next to them if you want softer surfaces). Forest Park is much bigger as is Tualatin Hills, but I thought this could be another option should you need one. Good luck.
Thanks for the suggestions. i should be able to get in some good runs w/ all your input. i'm going to be doing some work on the nike campus, so i'll probably take advantage of their routes.
None of that is strictly enforced, but it is generally understood, that Nike wanted the campus to be the way it is to reward employees. It is a perk, having the nice trails, and everything. It is not meant for people to just use anytime. It is ok if people come to the campus and look around, as long as they do not disturb anything or try and get into the buildings. They can use the track, if they get permission. Just because rules are not enforced, doesnt mean that they arent there. The problem lies in that people have not been respectful in the past. They come and park in spots they are not supposed to, or try and hang around hoping they will catch a glimpse of some famous athlete visiting the campus. So for future reference, please do not put the idea out there that people can just come onto the campus and do whatever they like. There are plenty of other places to run. Thanks.
I called Nike a few years ago. They said there was no problem running around the outer loop. A security guard also told my brother the same thing a couple of months ago. They do not want people running through the campus, but the perimeter loop is fine.
Tinman,
No, sorry, I'm 46 years old and moved out to Portland 16 years ago, well past my high school years.
thank you for clarifying this. I was unaware of the change. I apologize for my inaccuracy.
This isn't a change. The trail and track have always been open to the public. Enjoy.
just do what every body does, run up to pittock mansion and then stop at the top to look at the city, pretending that you actually care when really you just need to take a time out. its a classic!
Matt Taylor was just there last week running with the Portland XC team and posted lots of great stuff (stories and pictures) about Forest Park and other areas on his site, Chasing Tradition. Not trail maps, exactly, but you might like the read and get some ideas from it.
