in fact, the head coach of the team that has the freshman who ran 9:01/4:09 this year is named Carroll Nappi.

I hope the women's numbers are yellow or pink or something so you really stick out.

Although, I think if one person is not using the number they should be able to transfer it you might get in a situation where people start buying numbers for races that sell out and then sell them for a profit. Probably not a lot of money in scalping marathon numbers but you never know....

Why don't you just duck out before the finishing area? It's not like you are banditing, you have paid for it but you just don't want to screw the results. I wouldn't worry about the name or colour on the number.

I can not do that as I would not have officially run a marathon then.

typos happen all the time with registrations--at least when RDs have to type in data from paper entry forms. So "maybe" they spelled "Carl" wrong and wrote "Carol" instead. White our the letter 'O.' YOu can pass as "Carl"

Get a sex change and run it.

The only way you run an Official Marathon is when the entry is in your name and you put one foot ahead of the other for 26.2 miles. Anything else is banditing.

Why not just run Fox Cities or Quad Cities instead?

If you are going to cheat, you should shut up about it. There are 5 Carols entered and the RD is going to know that one of them is a cheater.
