If this isn’t some horrible joke, it’s a horrible guess.
Best was 4:07. At my age now, probably 5:30.
Best was 4:59. Most recent: 7:19
Best was 4:56, 20 years ago in high school. Did a 5:29 a couple weeks ago into a stiff wind, and a 5:17 back in July. Had a goal of going under 5 again this year, but ended up spending more time rehabbing my Achilles than doing speed work.
If you mean in the viewer's current shape--I cracked a twelve-minute mile (walking) a few weeks ago.
Ran a Virtual 5k for first time ever this week and my first mile split was 4:56
Never ran a timed mile before, so going to try that later this week (need body to recover a bit went a little too hard lol) but excited to see if it holds up. Don’t train running much, generally do two 4 mile jogs at like a 30 min pace a week

If that's true. 12 minutes walking is very very fast.
4:11.54 indoors
Now: size 34 waist, desk job. Id like to run more but life has other priorities.
6:06 in the 5th grade. 5;06 in the sixth grade. Injuries. Injuries. Injuries. 4:49 in 9th grade. Now 7;55.

Why is everyone posting his/her mile time? He was asking about AVERAGE.
It's probably ~5 min/mile, guys a bit faster females slower. But gender doesn't even affect the average much, since I guess 90%+ on LRC are males, otherwise the average would be slower.
There are also a decent amount of master's runners on LRC that probably also slow down the average a lot. Sure you have some talents here in the ~4 flat/4 low range, but they are just a few not affecting the average that much.
5:15 and 6:15. Most here are former D3 guys who only 15:50 in college.
mean or median?
