If an average day for you was 5 miles of running and 5 of walking, you'd be doing 35 miles/week of each for a total of 70 miles. Do you really believe you are even remotely coming close to those weekly totals? Every other day you are posting about how you're just not feeling it that day and trying to decide where you are going to eat out or where you're having dinner delivered from. The Life of Riley!
I don't have to believe, I record my daily runs. Oct 4-10, took 1 day off, the rest were 5 mile runs with one 4 mile run. I don't record the walks. I used to but not anymore Most days it's a 4 mile walk, sometimes more, sometimes less in addition to the run.
For the 38 year old guy, yes I have noticed how my legs take more of a beating, but the last week I think they've held up decently. I actually think I have gotten a bit of gout and that was the reason for some of the pain in my knees. So I have to watch my diet a bit more closely. My diet has never been really strict. I like to indulge on some candy or cookies quite often. I figure that as long as I get the healthy stuff in, I can afford a few sweets.
I also enjoy biking but the gyms were I live don't allow showering unless you are swimming, because of the virus. Biking is my preference over swimming. Used to have a good roadnbike, a Cannondale R800 but sold it years ago. Biking is definitely a good alternative.
I might do some situps and pushups. Years ago I was doing 500 situps, 250 pushups/day for a short while. Now I do 100 and 50, maybe. Haven't been consistent with them.
