Go ahead and explain the do's and don't you've learned, tell people why or why not to do it, etc. I just want to talk running.
My thoughts: I tend to lean towards a Kellogg approach of lots of easy miles with super slow shakeout and an emphasis on sub threshold. I also like the idea of every run being a progression run of a sorts (ie easy days start at 9 min pace out the door, but after about 5 - 10 min, you're cruising at your regular easy pace and maybe finish a little faster, but not "fast". I also like the idea of Mike Smith/Canova Hill Sprints. I think ideally, base phase is about working on max speed and improving your threshold/aerobic endurance.
I've only ever hit about 115, so not quite the 120, but I'll be there soon.
What would an ideal way to build to 120 look like for you? What would the actual 120 week look like? If you care to add, what are ALL the little things you can think to do?
Just want to open up a discussion that's actually about training, I haven't seen too many lately. Trolls and serious responses are wanted!
