Ran 4:40 splitting a 72,71,70,67. Was my first time trial this fall and a typical rust buster. Didn’t really have the wheels to pick it up too much but I also felt I like I wasn’t truly kicking at all. I also ran it completely solo.
Two workouts I did before was 10x400 where I averaged 69 with a really bad wind the last 150 and a 4x broken 800 splitting consistent splitting 1:42 for the 600 and 30 for the 200.
Race day was abnormally hot too. What do you guys think?

That's not an awful race. That's a great TT for you, actually. You can break 4:40 in race conditions.
That's an optimally-paced rust-buster time trial.
Even with no further progress, in an actual race at this time--again, with good pacing-- you should be good for 4:35 or better.
I agree -- it looks like you raced pretty well to your fitness. The workouts might indicate a little faster and you closed really well. Get out in an even 2:18 the next time out.
Low-mid-4:30s in a race.
ive got kids who would be good for an extra 2 or 3 seconds under racing conditions. and kids who get an extra 10 to 15 from a race. this is assuming time trial is solo
Maybe in a race you would go out faster and finish slower to run a 4:41-4:45. Actually, quite likely this would be the result and not a magical 4:30 or something. Sorry, but 4:40 is the true ceiling for you this year.
That's not a terrible race really. you could probably run 4:35 in an actual race rn
