Hi! Hobbyjogger here, I need some advice on pacing strategy for my next 10k race. Havent raced in a while, my last 10k was my PB (36:04) this spring.
This weekend (6 days before my race) I did 8 x 1000 m on a flat tarmac road in:
3:39 - 38 - 41 - 37 - 35 - 34 - 31 - 28
Rest: 1 minute walk
First 4 interals in zoom fly 3, last 4 in my new Vaporfly.
Heavy breathing, but this was not all out. Didn't get the "lactid acid burning sensation". Could have done 2 more reps at around 3:30 if I wanted. Pulse around 90-92% of max, dropping to around 65-70% during rest.
Low milage this summer due to injury (30-40 miles/week) + 2-4 hours/week of crosstraing and cycling.
How should I pace myself next week? Am I in PB shape?
