Decided to take the plunge and purchase these. My current rotation is a couple of pairs of Pegasus 37s and a pair of Brooks ghost 12s.
My thoughts on the Next% Tempos
The shoes are pricey at €200.
They look GREAT, probably the nicest running shoe around. The upper is thin, fits true to size and is snug on the foot - you don't feel the need to lace up too tight for them to fit well. The offset laces stop any pressure points forming on the top of the foot.
When you put them on initially, it's an interesting sensation, they are VERY cushioned and comfortable to walk in, they add probably 1 1/2 inches to your height too. You can definitely feel your foot wanting to rock forward as it passes over the air bags in the forefoot, but like I said, very comfortable.
When it comes to running, these feel great running faster paces(anything faster than 4:20/km). I found they really shined at the 3:00/km-3:30/km range for me. Very little wear on them after a few runes and I'm heavy(83kg).
It seems to me a lot of the negative reviews are from runners who are running slower in them. I'm not sure I understand this. They are designed to be the training partner of the Alphafly (pretty much universally accepted the faster shoe out there), they are expensive, they have features designed for fast running ( the plate), they even have words like zoom, tempo and next% in their title..
Seems to me like it's designed for faster runners?
I could be way off base here with the above assumption, but I love the shoe so far, would not be put off by the price tag as it seems quite durable. Great looking shoe, fits well, very comfortable and feels great running fast!
