I have an idea that feels like it is crazy, but can't figure out why it wouldn't work. My friend introduced me to "hangover patches" last year at a bachelor party as a way to prevent feeling bad the day after drinking. Basically it is a patch you put on your skin as you start drinking that allows you to absorb various nutrients and vitamins that are lost since alcohol is a diuretic. I was skeptical when he told me about it but sure enough, felt surprisingly good each morning that weekend after using the patches.
This made me wonder - could these types of patches help with running too? For example, if you put it on at the start of a marathon would it help your body replenish nutrients that are lost through the effort?
Like I said it feels gimicky and sounds crazy, but I also don't see a reason why it wouldn't work. Anything you think I'm missing?
