I'm in California, where the entire state is currently on fire. The AQI is pushing 300 in my area, and it's not projected to clear up for another week. I've already taken 3 days off.
During the fires (which are becoming an annual reality), I typically run on any day when the AQI dips below 100-120, and try to maintain 70-80 MPW. When it's too bad to go outside, I usually just get free trials at gyms and use a treadmill for a week or two. But all the gyms near me are still closed due to COVID-19.
I have a bike trainer in my apartment, but when I use it — even with 2 towels and a mat underneath — the people who live below me complain about the noise. (I can't say I blame them; it's very loud).
Aside from leaving the state, what are the best things I can do indoors to maintain my running fitness? I'm willing to try almost anything.
Thanks in advance for the advice!
