Copied from my post on the earlier "Tulane Contingency Plan" thread. From what I understand, the track and XC teams should find out today where they are going.
The various Tulane athletic teams reportedly will be kept intact this fall at not-yet-disclosed colleges. The head coaches from all sports are conferencing to work out the details, after which the athletes will be informed of when and where to report.
Everyone connected with Tulane--especially the parents of Tulane students--are grateful beyond expression for the generosity being extended by other schools. We are equally grateful for the ongoing efforts of the Tulane administration to organize this extraordinary, unprecedented undertaking.
Thank you to everyone from the proud dad of a Tulane student.

Tulane Athletics to Continue Competition This Fall
Green Wave Student-Athletes Receive Assists from Universities Around the Country
Sept. 2, 2005
NEW ORLEANS -- Tulane University announced today that it would not hold fall semester classes on its campus this fall in the wake of the devastation wrought throughout New Orleans and neighboring parishes by Hurricane Katrina. However, Tulane students will be welcomed at hundreds of colleges and universities around the country this fall, thanks to the cooperation of nine leading higher education associations, which will accept Tulane students for the fall semester only under a set of specific guidelines.
In addition, Tulane President Scott Cowen announced that Green Wave student-athletes are an "integral part of this plan" and that its athletic teams would continue to compete during this fall semester.
"We want our athletes to carry the torch, face and name of Tulane University during this difficult time and we have worked out an arrangement within the context of the [overall] plan," Cowen said. "This is made possible once again with assistance and generosity from colleges and universities - those in Conference USA and those outside of the conference - who have generously offered to help keep our teams together by providing not only academic opportunities but also practice facilities, playing facilities and general support."
Tulane Athletic Director Rick Dickson and his administrative team, which is assembled in Dallas and Birmingham where its football and women's soccer teams continue to train and compete, are working to formulate the plan for its student-athletes for the fall semester,. Those details will be announced as soon as they are finalized and all coaches, staff and student-athletes can be contacted.
"We're pleased that our Green Wave teams will be able to continue to compete and proudly represent Tulane University and the city of New Orleans during the fall semester," Dickson said. "We have received a tremendous amount of support already from our Conference USA family and from athletics programs around the country. This collaborative effort to put Tulane University teams on the fields of play this fall is unprecedented."
Tulane's women's soccer team fell to Louisville, 2-1, Friday night in Birmingham as coach Betsy Anderson's squad was the first Green Wave team to compete since the hurricane hit New Orleans Monday. The team was evacuated to Jackson, Miss. on Sunday and arrived in Birmingham Tuesday night. They will play Kennesaw State at Noon on Sunday on the second day of the UAB Nike Tournament.
