No. I think OP's friend is ABOVE average talent. The true average (50th percentile) guy probably cannot break 5 for 1500m no matter how hard he tried.
i don't know. this is kind of an unanswerable question. We are including only people in upper teens, 20s, and 30s who have 4 years of solid running, including 2 years of 40+ miles per week for base. And not overweight.
i'll just say the guy is average and leave it at that. though his results would show far above average, if comparing to everybody who runs.
