have used mine for a year now. (music version) I'm very happy with it, accurate tracking, good hr readings. Take a look at the FR45 if you do not need all the extra features. cheaper and lighter with the same tracking / hr capabilities.
I love mine.
I have been using them for one year now and it is a great watch! Light and easy to use. You can add some apps (like weather) or turn all the "advanced" (nonsense) functions off.
The is GPS slightly off in comparison with some other Garmins, but no big deal.
I have had mine for about 3 months and it has been great. I came from an old 620, for reference. I find the GPS is more accurate (based on maps and comparisons to race courses and friends' watches). The HR works surprisingly well. The looks are clean and simple, which I prefer over some of the bigger, more stylized watches.
I'm running about 60 to 70 mpw, with the usual long runs and tempos and some interval work. There is nothing I need the watch to do that it doesn't do. I'm hoping it lasts for a lot of years.

I have the Forerunner 45. It's a great "set it and forget it" watch. It does the basic stuff. It's the cheapest Garmin you can get with wrist-based heart rate. My only need with it is that the battery life isn't great. I've had it for a year now and I have to charge it pretty much every day. Sometimes I can go a couple days without charging it but that's about it. Ideally I would have a watch that could go a week without charging.

Easy to upload music to it?

What he said ^^
I am really happy with my FR45.

I think if you want music it's worth spending the extra $50 to get the music. If you don't the Coros Pace 2 or FR 55 (or w/e the cheapest model is) is a better value.
Anyone else have trouble getting this watch to connect to your pc?
my pc refuses to connect to the watch. I bought a new cable, cleaned the contacts, reset the watch...nothing.
So I can't change the music. Set forever. Garmin software is so buggy....
I have no prob connecting or downloading music
Garmin support is excellent. Just call-in; web-surf during the wait.
The 255 is out now, btw.
Went from the 235 to the 45. Love it.
I am overall happy with the watch but uploading music is a pain. Maybe it is because I use Amazon Music but it seems like it should be a lot easier than it is.
FR245 have screen defects where the missing pixels will get larger over time, it happened to me but Garmin did replace it in the US after warranty expired
My 245’s wrist optical HR monitor was pretty good and actually gave me better (more accurate) results than my current 945, which requires a strap to get good results during vigorous exercise. I think the reason for that is that the smaller 245 fit my small wrist better, since ‘light-leakage’ will corrupt the optical HR sensors.
I’m a D2 female runner. Our coach explicitly told us not to visit LetsRun forums.
Great interview with Steve Cram - says Jakob has no chance of WRs this year
