what do we think about annual logs for a varsity/experienced high school runner?
how about miles logged over summer, in the months when it is most important to build a solid base?

I’m the top runner In my district and placed 2nd at regionals. I ran 400 miles over an 11 week period during the summer of 19.
All the top guys in my district with few exceptions ran 50-60 mpw pretty much year round their junior and senior years. They tend tend to be around 30-35 mpw as freshmen and 40-45 mpw as sophomores.
For annual mileage I guess that means under 2000 as freshmen, over 2000 as sophomores, and over/under 2500 miles as juniors and seniors.

That describes the district I went to school in as well. There were a couple really good guys who did big mileage and one who I think ran 100 mpw in hs, but that is about average.
