Hey,
I have been doing all of my runs in the extra wide sizing of the Ghost. Can anybody recommend me a light shoe to pair with it? I've tried a few Altra and Topo shoes a half size up from my Ghosts but they're still too narrow in the forefoot. If I went a full size up they would be too long.
Any ideas? Not necessarily looking for something super minimalistic, just something a bit less clunky than the Ghosts. Thanks.
I would recommend something from New Balance since they have multiple widths for most of their shoes.
Either the 890s or Propel sounds like they might be a good option.
Unfortunately, both of those shoes come in 2e. Too narrow :(
I have 8.5 4E feet but typically wear NB 9 2E shoes because there are so many more options. That said, Altras have been wide enough for me so this might not work for you.
If you do try any New Balance shoes, the Beacon and Propel are wider than the 890.
Thanks for the advice and anecdotal experience. I found the propel v1 wide for cheap in a half size up on Amazon.
Just curious, do you wear your Altras in 8.5 or 9.
Have you tried running in shoes with the insoles removed? That's what I do with most of my shoes to gain extra volume. When trying on shoes, besides just testing various sizes of the same model, I also try them with and without the insoles.
Size 9 for both my Altra Vanish-R and Golden Spike.
