Tim had two Kenyan pacemakers (they were even wearing the same Kenyan team outift that Tim had on - I wouldn't be surprised if it turns out they were Manangoi and Kiprop, lol) who deliberately went out faster than Jakob and the rest had been informed.
Tim benefited from two laps of drafting from personal pacemakers while Jakob led the chasing pack and effectively solo ran a 3:28.
Yet the usual suspects here are saying Jakob went home devastated!
If Monaco was the unofficial Tokyo 1500 final 2020, then Jakob should be given the gold medal. If Tokyo does take place next year, Jakob is going to stroll it, you know it, Tim knows it. You've been proven wrong yet again. No, Jakob has not mysteriously peaked yet again while still a teen. He's chopped 1 1/2 seconds off his pb in a race he virtually front ran from the gun, and he's going to break the world record next year as well as win gold in Tokyo.
Credit to Tim - I did think both Jakob and Jake Wightman were going to pass him in the home straight. Looks like the Manangoi bust has yet to catch up with him.
My predictions were spot on as usual. I predicted Brazier to run low 1:43, I predicted Kyle Langford to run 1:44, I predicted Jake Wightman to run 3:29 and I predicted Jakob to run 3:28.
