Moroccan El Mahmoud Dazza winner of the Prague marathon and Fukuoka in 2019 has been suspended for four years by the unity of integrity in athletics (AIU) because of anomalies in his biological passport. The Moroccan, 29 years old, had been controlled on the eve of his victory in Prague on 9 May 2019 where he ran 2.05. 58. Seven other controls were done until 4 November, one month before his victory in Fukuoka on 1 December 2019 where he ran 2.07.10.
One feel sorry for this unfortunate Moroccan who grew up in very unfortunate circumstances, selling cigarettes on the street as a youth and neglecting his education for lack of finances.
Tragedy all this, is that most of these athletes could still reach very high levels without doping but they are often subject to pressures by the trainers and different authorities in their countries to go the extra mile to get the extra level.
This is very tragic.
With regard to the prize monies that he won in those races, there is no information yet about that so one is not sure if he was able to keep his prize money.
