Does stopping during runs to stretch or hydrate or some other reason ruin the purpose of the run? for example, i usually run to practice (1.5 miles) and then stop and stretch with the team for awhile before going out and running, say, another 6 miles. then i will stop again for the end of practice, and then run home. i count this as 9 miles, but does it really count? is it as useful as doing all 9 at once?
