I think React always feel much firmer and stiffer at first. It tends to feel a lot better once broken in.
It is a decent foam, but there is a lot better stuff out there now. I have to disagree though since I prefer the Epic/Infinity over the Peg 37.
React does harden up in cold weather if that's a factor. Just ran in my old pair with 350 miles on them. They're not ever soft, but just have a little "give" and the flyknit is cool in the heat here. Still a fun enough shoe that I was looking for another pair on sale.
Agreed. I've ran in both Epic React 1 and 2, they ended up feeling very similar after a few runs. The foam needs some time to break in.
I wish Nike would make it lower drop to have more bounce in the forefoot.
As it stands, it's quite thin in the forefoot
