If you think a shoe made you run 20sec/km faster or slower, your opinion is worthless.

Would be almost 3 and a half minute faster over a 10k

Interesting, thanks. As you probably know, the air zoom units in the women's version are in fact softer, and you're not the first guy I've heard of to prefer it over the firmer men's version. I agree with the others that 20 secs per km is too much to attribute solely to the shoe technology, but I imagine you ran faster in them because you enjoyed them more. :-) Question: fit in women's 12.0 was the same as the men's 10.5? Any even small differences (narrower, a touch longer/shorter, etc)? I may give the women's a try too.

Yes you probably right, I ran exactly the same run on them. Got back and was surprised at the time. It just felt faster and smoother and enjoyed them more than the others. The womans actually fitted me better, more room up front seem a touch wider at the forefoot, and a little narrower midfoot though vs mens version. I would say its a touch narrower overall than men's shoe though. When I read the roadtrailreview of the Nike peg 37 comparing both - Sam preferred the woman/s version (he did youtube comparison as well) so I had to try them.

Yes size 12 woman's vs 10.5 in men's. I usually wear 10.5 to 11 in men's. Plenty of length. A little heel slip on both versions though. Steve

Interesting observation. I'm not going to ask your weight but I come in at 202. I was planning to check these out in a few days so I will try both.

I am 74kg approximately 165 pounds. I read in the roadtrailrun review that Jeff is around 200 pounds and he like the men's version. Sam did say in the review that for lighter runners the womans version (15psi) may be better as the airzoom unit works more effective at all paces whereas the mens is at 20psi takes more weight for it to be effective.

I did another run last night there was only about 6 seconds per km (probably more accurate 5.40 vs 5.34 - I am a slow runner) between the nike epic react and Nike peg 37, my stride length was about 7 cm more in the peg 37, I think its that extra bit of extra pop in the airbag. Cheers Steve

Hi all,

Just an update, I continue to run in these everyday, they not as stiff - smooth transition, and now seem to have a bit more bounce, smoothed out more . Really enjoying them. I am a slow runner and did the same route each time at 5.14 min/km pace which is the fastest I've been on this route , even faster than my Asics Novablast. I did do a short run (only 1km) in the Peg 37 at 4.57 min/km pace and I certaintly can feel them responding well they seem to like that pace as well as slower paces.

Consider wearing a mini-skirt with your woman’s pegs. Great freedom of motion.

But if they we infused with his blood? That might work.

In my opinion, they are both less than ideal shoes.

The epic react are as hard as a rock and lack traction.

The pegasus are too heavy (over 10 oz in a US 10) which is a shame because they are decent.

Adidas boston is superior if the lack of cushion isn't an issue.
