Lyles is smoking fast these days.
I wish the 100 wasn’t yards. What’s the point? Why don’t they run it on cinder in leather spikes without blocks?

I don't know but I kind of like it. Conjures up visions of Bob Hayes, Houston McTear, Carlos, Crockett, et al.
helo there

Agree it is odd. These guys aren't running fast enough to challenge the World Best. Would be more fun to see them try to break 10 than to run a weird distance with a non-record time.

In their primes interesting question. Right now, it has to be Miller-Uibo by a half-second or more. Wondering who would win by Miller-Uibo and the best Jamaicans ~ Elaine Thompson, Shelly Ann Fraser-Pryce. Those could be good.
Oh and Dina Asher-Smith and maybe Ta Lou.
Moline and not Muhammad is listed for 300H in Walnut.
Welp I was wrong. Pretty bad result for Miller-Uibo. Good showing by Felix!

Do you think running into a 2.5 headwind was a factor in Florida?
I didn't see it was that bad! She's run 16.23 in good conditions in the past and put up some good marks of late. So let's says she's in 16.4-5 shape. How much would the wind conversion cost her from a no-wind day?
That was on a straight course, so could maybe drop down a tenth or so slower if you like
Using this calculator you would approximate the effect on a 150 as between the 100 and 200. I inputted 11.05 and 22.5. It affects the 100 by .18 and the 200 by .29 per this model. Splitting the difference it would be around .24. That would place Miller-Uibo a smudge under 12 with a 0.0 wind. Still not near her form you'd think.
-3.4 wind for the 100y. Lame. Kind of ruins the anticipation of a fast time in the 200.
I doubt they could flip the track in order to run with a tailwind in Florida.
I don't know if the IMG Academy complex is set up to do that.
Let's not pretend this is even vaguely interesting. It was nice to see Alyson Felix, but as sport, this is a dud.

Will the headwind get lyles as well?
Can someone explain the Felix performance? I'm shocked she won this.
The wind reading must be off, surely? It says she ran into a 2.6 headwind, which would be even bigger than Miller-Uibo's. Yet she beat Miller-Uibo comfortably, 16.81 to 17.15.
Maybe Felix actually had a 2.6 tailwind? Miller-Uibo ran pretty well last weekend in Clermont and I find it unlikely a 34-year-old Felix could run faster than a 26-year-old Miller-Uibo for 150 under the same conditions.
Regardless of the wind, a good showing for Felix.
