Yep. Technically speaking, their NATIONAL 800m record is 1 minute, 41.11 seconds. Guy who did it just retired too. Their queen is named MARGRETHE II. Let's see if you can figure the rest out.

Politically, the Faroes are like Puerto Rico or Hong Kong....somebody else's bitch...kind of.
The Faroe Island are technically part of Denmark but are largely autonomous.
From what I've read, the climate is harsh and the food is bad. If you like fish you'll probably like the food.

I ran against a couple of runners from the Faeroe Islands, they were competing for the Danish Club Skovbakken...but they also represented the Faeroe Islands at the Island Games...Albert Joensen and Guttorm Soerensen...and also Absalon Hansen ran for my club, I think he had the marathon record...and there is also Bogi Lenvig...
As far as I remember then Albert Joensen and Absalon Hansen had most of their Island records...
