Have you ever been sitting down, thinking about how fast those high school phenoms are when you yourself are in your 20s and can't even fathom being that fast?
If you want to start on the path to reaching your potential in running, you need to ask yourself one question every once in a while:
"Why am I not faster?"
That's all. The answers will vary depending on your situation but common ones will probably be:
-I don't run enough
-I don't eat right
-I don't sleep enough
-I haven't ever thought about whether I should lose some fat mass
-I don't practice injury prevention with foam rolling/stretching
-I don't ever lift weights or strengthen my core
-I don't ever do hill sprints or any kind of sprinting
-I don't race enough
-I sit down for too long, too often
-I'm not consistently running as much as I can without getting injured
-I don't set goals for myself... I just run
-I don't have a spot in my monthly budget dedicated to running-related things
And the list goes on. There is always something you could do better. If you care about your running, the time is now to make the change (or tomorrow morning, I guess, since it's late)
