I live in a city, so it's not like I'd be running down some country road by myself. I'm committed to the split shorts, so shirtless I'd be almost naked. I'm in my 30s, but I'm fit. I've been running with my shirt on, but it's hot. I also track heart rate, so I'll have a strap across my chest.
Should I run shirtless or buy some singlets? If singlets, does any one have any recommendation for some cheap ones I could buy multiple colors of?
To run shirtless, or not

I ran shirtless like 75% of the year in HS. Nowadays, I try to keep a shirt on unless it's truly brutal outside.
Here are some cheap singlets:

Yes.
If you're a lady, then double yes!
I get cat-called by the local Puerto Rican ladies and sometimes yelled at by the fat rednecks when I run shirtless, but that's way better than running with a fully drenched and heavy shirt hanging on me. -
Free the nipple. Run shirtless and get your tan on

Thanks, those fit the bill!

Try running at times when there aren’t too many people out and going about. Either early mornings or really late in the day. For me that’s either around 6:30am or 8:30pm -
Shirtless. When we are around town running as a group we get a lot of car honks, cat calls, etc. Doesn't bother me, pretty funny overall. So anytime it's 70°+ always shirtless

95% of the time i keep it on

my state is hot

Wear a singlet. Very few men actually look good running shirt-less, and those who do just look like they’re showing off. If women can wear 2 layers in stifling heat (singlet and sports bra) then you can handle a singlet.

I run shirtless in nyc from June till September. If u don’t have any self body image issues I wouldn’t bother with singlets.

Solid point Canada Girl. I did buy singlets from the links posted above. We just bought a house in April and I don't want my neighbors, who are great so far, thinking I'm a weirdo.

I spent a lifetime being modest. Shirt never ever came off. Midlife joined a running team. I just got to that point - body heat became a real thing & shirt never went back on.
Same as previous poster. NYC and it's humidity. -
If you wear split shorts, they think you're a weirdo.

I never wear a shirt when running in the summer. It's one of the best feelings on earth!
The feminists had this one right. Free the nips. -

Why do you care what your neighbors think? You do you man.
If you live for the approval of others you'll always come up short -
I’m shirtless and split shorts from June to September.
Seem to be getting more strange looks than usual since Covid. Maybe I should move the split shorts from my butt to my face. -
Run shirtless whenever you want. /thread

The strange looks are jealousy cause haters are jealous of your confidence. Keep on trucking! -

Yeah but what will you think of yourself in 20-30 years time?
