Didn't you watch the breaking2 video? They did mention if they told him to run 1:55, he would have trained for that.

Yes, absolutely he would set about training for the goal they were paying him to train for. I would happily accept a sponsorship to do everything I could to run 2:00. I can't do it, but I'd accept the money and trained hard for them.

You can call it pendantic but I too think it's really annoying throwing out phrases like "no human is limited". Every human is extremely limited in all sorts of ways. Some are way more limited than others. Maybe every single other human on the planet minus Bekele is more limited than Eliud Kipchoge in distance running.
He used to sound wise to me but stuff like this is just annoying. You can see it in someone's eyes—the way the look forward like they are percieving some secret in the universe that you too can be privy to if follow their backwards ideology.

What Eliud means is NOT that you can achieve anything but offen people set barriers in their mind like 'I can never break 15:00 or whatever'. His no limit means that these barriers only exist in our minds and can never be real. It's just not possible for anyone to limit you, like the speed of light. Now, that's a real limit set by nature. Of course, you have a limit which is determined by talent, determination, luck, whatever. Maybe you can never break 16:00, but you will never find out until you try, because again, this limit doesn't really exist.

to answer your question, the most likely reason that he doesn't run 1:55 is because he's limited. guess that means he's not human... in this case, that's not a good thing. wonder why none of us limitless humans have yet run a 3 minute marathon though?

Your attempt to explain the true meaning behind his motto even falls short of satisfying.
