Very dumb question : if I attempt a 400m time trial, what lane is the best to use?
Do I lose time running in lane 1 ?
I'm aiming at around 60s if that matters...

I'd run in Lane 4-5, they're usually the most desirable lanes for a 400m race (probably for mental reasons though)
I don't think you'd lose any time running in lane 1 because of curve tightness if you're running on an outdoor 400m track.
Outside lane.
At your speed, lane 3 would give you a mental advantage of starting ahead of the finish line and a visual advantage going into and leaving turns 3 & 4 focusing about 20 meters ahead to the inside.
Further out by yourself might make the track seem visually larger.
