Anyone have serious issues with running in heat/humidity? I always suspected that my heat tolerance is significantly lower than other people, but only recently decided to get some real data. My heart rate increases 20-30 BPM when it's over 80 degrees out. I can pretty easily get up to 200 BPM on an easy effort. Pace seems to have zero correlation to heart rate. I'll go up to 200 BPM running 7 minute pace or 10 minute pace.
I guess my real question is this: is it worth it to keep running in the heat? Does getting my heart rate to 200 BPM on every run have negative consequences? Should I just bag running outside and try to hit the treadmill for the summer? Any tips on how not to get absolutely destroyed in the heat?
