Is it legal for a team to target one guy and box him in forever?

bump
Well, I don't think that is actually physically possible. I mean, if I was boxed in by 4 guys and felt like they were doing it deliberately, I would just slow way down, almost to a stop or walk, then I'd go around the outside of them. Not sure how it would be possible to be boxed in the entire race.
Not really. It happens.

I think Lagat used masterful tactics often.
Cycling uses interesring tactics more often.

I love watching tactical races. Here is a great example, '92 Olympic 1500. This is one of my favorite championship races due to the multipe tactics employed by many. If only Spivey could have pulled off what I thought he was going to do with 400 to go.
The Kenyans ran Chesire (1112) up front. Kibet (1117) ran in lane two the entire race directly outside or 1/2 step in front of the heavy favorite Algerian Moreceli. Moreceli finally tried to go out the back in the middle of the backstretch but had to go to lane 3 just as Cacho got by Chesire on the inside into the lead. This caused the whole pack to 'go' leaving Morceli struggling. The Kenyan team tactics worked if Chesire had been up to protecting his position at the front like Peter Rono in '88. If you watch the '88 race, notice that Cram fought Herrold late on the final backstretch while Rono stayed within himself probably costing Cram & Herrold any chance for a win.
It is sooo easy to sit on my a$$ noticing tactics but much harder for the guys actually in the middle of it all.

No! I read in another thread where initially two guys were arrested and then a third, all for murder for doing something like this!
Kenny knew he had no chance against EL G. Only if Gebber had tackled EL G could he have won.
