Assuming the pacers guy is 3:50-3:55 PR type a guy, how hard of an effort is it for hon to hit 4:00 here?

Are we sure it isn’t the other, way faster kid from Jesuit, CA taking part in this race?
No idea, but there is a pacer later in the website that is linked (Evan Heckle). I just assumed he was sub-4 if pacing.
But regardless, my question remains: how hard is it for a 3:50 guy to run 4:00?

Probably about as hard, or a little harder since he’s pacing, as doing a mile at 2 mile race pace if he’s aerobically fit (more of a 15/5k guy) or pretty dang hard if he’s more of a straight mid d (8/15) guy, especially since he’s pacing it and not drafting.

Probably depends on the pace, I know pre was a 3:52 guy I believe and he ran sub 4 in a workout once for the crowd with the smog

Why wouldn’t they just do this in Utah? Closer for everyone and less likely to get shutdown.

Nevermind, it says Strangio is injured. The kid mentioned PR is only 4:17 tho
Because Utah is at elevation (SLC = 4500 ft)... but read the article MS posted originally about the race... sounds like they're following protocols pretty carefully to make sure they are compliant
