Really need help. Anyone training in the Zoom Fly 3’s? I have increased my mileage from 30~ to about 75-85 over the last 4 months. I am dealing with serious heel pain, plantar fasciitis, probably. It is terrible. Is there something out there to help make it tolerable? I have never worn any of Nike’s new technology shoe, would it help?
I agree with the prior responses about the over-increase in mileage. The 10% rule - only increase weekly mileage by 10% at most, week on week - needs to be cited.
As to using the Vaporflys or really any of the other carbon fiber plated shoes on a daily basis: unless you're super rich this probably isn't a great idea. They have comparably low mileage limits. At about 200 miles, the vaporfly's lose a considerable amount of their 'pop', which means you'd have to keep buying new pairs to even get the (frankly questionable) benefits you'd get from using them.
Also, if you're having a heel issue, I'm not sure the vaporflys would even help. They seem to be most beneficial for forefoot or midfoot striking and I doubt they'd have much impact on heel pain, but that's just a guess
