This is somewhat in relation to the sub 3 hour post, but I thought this should be separated from the other. Anyway...
I am in Bangkok right now. There are very very few places to run. I can run, and have managed to run most everyday, and even some long runs. The thing is, I have no clue how far exactly I'm going.
I know roughly by gauging at my ability and time, but it's still unclear. About a month ago I ran a 10k in just over 33min.
I guess what I'm getting at is if I do long runs (say, an hour and a half and longer) with little judgement of speed, is it going to make a huge impact? I could just time it and stop at 90 min or something, guessing I'm running around 7 min pace. Is that really bad, or do you think I could get by with that.
I'm pretty nervous, because I've never raced near this distance before. Longest I've done is 15k. The Bangkok Marathon isn't until late November, so I do have some time to train. I think getting 70 miles a week shouldn't be hard.
If you have any advice, I'd love to read it.
