I'd just say that it doesn't matter what trump does or doesn't do. The US voting population doesn't have the capacity to wade through facts and whatnot to make a fair evaluation of the candidates. Leave that to Canada and Europe, for now.
As for the USA:
The US voting population will simply swing back and forth from one party to the other. The campaign will start 18 months before the election, but that's just for the nomination. The general election result is baked in...the Republican will lose and the Democrat will win.
The only thing American voters can measure is their dislike of politicians in office and their boredom. They will vote the opposite they voted last time. Because they do not like politicians in office and they get bored of the same old same old.
No Republican has much of a chance in 2028.
