Below are a few marathon results over the years (of 26 total). As a low mileage guy, the marathon has not been my strongest event, but it's my favorite. Alas, the latest is almost certainly my last.
Age 23 -- 2:40:30
Age 32 -- 3:20:47
Age 39 -- 3:12:46
Age 43 -- 2:56:03
Age 58 -- 3:07:23
Age 62 -- 3:44:06
I've been following the posts, here: inspiring training and race results!
After losing consciousness at the marathon finish line (brain injury, broken facial bones, many stitches, etc), I've had continued setbacks on my road to recovery.
My prostate symptoms worsened tremendously, resulting in an emergency visit to the urologist office. Urine had been backed up into my kidneys for a long while. They inserted a catheter and immediately drained more than TWO GALLONS. That was 9 days ago. The catheter remains in place, and the pain is so debilitating, I've been essentially bedridden.
Friday I had a follow-up CT of brain, but still need an MRI of brain, and a stress test for my heart. And I need to have ENT specialist check my broken facial bones (half my face is still numb). The next urologist appt is Tueday -- putting a scope up into my bladder. I am hoping the catheter comes out permanently, but have no idea.
Going forward, I am determined to work on my overall fitness -- upper body, core, balance, bicycle endurance. Also need to work paid construction jobs 50 hours a week and home projects at least 20 hours a week, so we'll see!
Run well!
