2017 College Track & Field Open Coaching Positions Discussion

I'm leaving Cornell on completely positive terms. My wife just completed her Ph.D. and accepted an amazing teaching job at Colorado State U. We move there next month. Cornell will continue to be an excellent program and the team has a group of awesome athletes for the next coach to work with. I'm sad to go but the future is bright for Cornell!

USC is having a hard time filling their distance coaching position. They have been turned down by two candidate, and they are scrambling to make a solid hire.

The Trojans have sort of lost their way in that area in the last few years. I don't think Freeman was a good fit, and he certainly didn't develop the middle and long distance talent at USC. I think he would be better off going back to Florida and coaching at a small school there.

I was thinking the same thing. Barreau getting canned at CNU and then this timing might have been the best thing to happen to him

Freeman will most likely stay in California, maybe Santa Cruz or some mid major there would be best for him to rebound

I was going to say this and add that your compliance folks must not be doing such a good job. I never missed more than 2 and that was a day on which I had a bunch of recruits in and flew through the test. If that test is tough, then the job might not be for you.

If you take the practice test three times, then you will have seen 90% of the questions on the actual test.

If that's not easy enough for you, just search the online version of the book.

There's going to be an adjustment for the HS coach coming to college, but it certainly shouldn't be the recruiting test.

Actually you can only miss 6.
