Just because someone "got there" first means nothing. The only reason the French and Norwegians and Swiss get to claim their countries are theirs is because America and Russia saved their butts in 1944. Greater civilian deaths will bring greater sympathy and then anger until pressure mounts on Israel to stop their action and leave Gaza. Taken to its conclusion the IDF returns to Israel, Hamas rebuilds, restocks, and in the next go around are much better armed (thanks to Iran) with more sophisticated capabilities. Israel has decided that this cycle needs to end.

my point is that it takes the usual anti-semitism to claim israeli aid is from some kind of corruption but not claim the same for all the other countries getting huge amoutns of financial help.

Just read a scary piece suggesting Israel's plan is to empty parts of the Gaza Strip. Not let anyone live there anymore. Expel the gazans and make them be the problem of Egypt, etc instead of an Israeli problem.

Hamas is not pushing the button to launch missiles on Palestinians.... the IDF is launching these strikes knowing full well that they are mostly killing innocent civilians. They are intentionally creating a humanitarian crisis - the reasons don't make it ok. Be consistent and call them murderers too. Israel dropped bombs along an escape route they said would be safe. Lots of blown up children. They've dropped thousands of bombs knowing full well they have no idea if there are any Hamas militants in those places at all. I guarantee you Hamas is long gone, while Palestinians are in the dark with no food and even access to info.

They are generating thousands of new terrorists and they are going to create the conditions in Gaza for much worse than Hamas to evolve. Israel will not be any safer with these actions. Yeah that won't work. Egypt is applying the Pottery Barn rule here. If Israel wants to retaliate on this scale and direct their destruction at the Palestitinians, they do need to own the fallout. Sure, they can cause the displacement of hundreds of thousands, but it won't be nearly enough to make Palestinians disappear. Once they try to entrench themselves deep into Gaza it'll be an unmanageable killing fest with devastating loss of Israeli soldiers, and jihadist fighters from all over the region will join the occupation resistance. Then some ISIS type of group may be born out of that.

Hamas forced the hand of Israel to respond. Hamas intentionally puts civilians in harms way and tells them not to leave. Hamas will gladly sacrifice civilians for publicity. Hamas decided to tear up water pipes to make bombs. Hamas decided to build tunnels under schools, mosques, and hospitals. This is a poop show and Hamas is the ring leader in all of it. Civilian casualties are unfortunate, but Hamas is the catalyst for all of it.

Hamas is a terrorist organization... of course that is what they do and they don't give a cr@p about the people. But again be consistent, neither does Israel at the moment. I'm not suggesting Israel is a terrorist state and yes they were provoked, but this mass bombardment without regard for innocent lives sure as heck is their doing... again Hamas is not there pressing the launch button and Israel has other much more effective options to deal with them.
What I'm seeing is a corrupt hard right government who fkd up badly with their security strategy and intel, and is now going all out violent to try to compensate and distract. They could achieve their objective of ending Hamas without this mass murder. And actually, what they are doing now is strengthening and validating the Hamas ideology. Much more terror will come to Israel this way.
