College Track and Field coaching is a Tough business. TCU gets rid of an experienced, well rounded throws coach with proven success at the Power 5 level - with probably only a couple years left to get to retirement, and hires a coach with one year experience. Not sure if the situation is the same, but experienced and successful jumps coach also has left TCU (17 years at LATech, and 12 years at TCU) in which he has PROVEN success. He has landed at South Carolina from what I understand. Is someone threatened by older, knowledgeable and established coaches OR is it easier to get less experienced coaches that you can "mold"?

OR was that super experienced and qualified coach a jerk who the whole staff hated?

Can't speak to the older throws coach, but when an experienced and successful jumps coach leaves for an SEC program, you can first assume that there's more money there. Then when you see that they lured Tim Hall to be their Director, you can assume that they are serious about winning and have given Tim the ability to bring in a great staff. Sometimes the coach just leaves for a better gig.
Both the throws coach and jumps coach were let go. KD is surrounding himself with young inexperienced people. This has all the markings of an insecure head coach. My guess is the jumps coach they hire will also be inexperineced and possibly a former athlete from a KD coaching stint. We just have to wait and see. But TCU future is not looking bright.
Without a doubt the TCU debacle is due to new head guy feeling the need to have young staff in he can control. Some of these types want to "Mentor" their staff and feel in secure with proven staff who get it done. Sad....

I felt the throws hire was a good one. Head coaches are hired and typically clear the previous staff immediately and that is typically the right thing to do to start with your own people and that may have been the mistake that this HC made. I could see where he maybe didn’t want to bother replacing a staff and didn’t have people in mind at the time or they weren’t ready to jump ship who knows. But all HC’s have the power to do what they feel is best for their program and that’s what the guy did. So assuming the reason behind it is a moot point.
