Just curious… are you calling Franklin Graham a liar and conspiracy theorist nutter simply because he’s telling the impacted areas of NC not to wait on government help, the leverage the community and the help of charities like his own that are also on the ground? One of the most revered pastors is a liar and conman eh?
Let's face it, most pastor's are in fact liars and conmen.
Of course, there may be exceptions.
But to point to a person being a "revered pastor" as if that makes them somehow more credible than any other random person is pure nonsense. You might as well point to someone being a "popular politician" and claim that makes them more credible than the average Joe.
Massive Israeli airstrike kills at least 18 in West Bank;
Now they are launching airstrikes in the West Bank, where Hamas does not rule.

The saddest thing of all is we didn't have to worry about this in 2019, nor Russia/Ukraine. We actually finally had Saudi Arabia ready to make peace as well. Truth is stranger than fiction. Meanwhile, thousands more die every day on both fronts. But, hey, they are not American lives, so who cares...
At the same time though, UNWRA employed Hamas and Hezbollah executive officers, so perhaps we should stop funding the UN for now? There are two sides that both need to be interested in peace.
I often do not know what you are talking about. Weird working on different levels, you and I.
If you are asking if I understand that the m'agas are motivated by getting back at libs like me for some perceived slight rather than making a careful vote based on policy differences...of course I understand that. All over the world there is a rural vs urban vote split based on emotion and I understand that very well.
What hypocrisy are you talking about exactly? Did I 'invite' the m'agas to hate me and vote in a coup architect who wants to terminate the Constitution? I don't know what that means. I'm just drawing a blank here about what you are getting at.
Well, this was my response to your slamming me as a Trumper, yet again, which is so unbelievably wrong, but, whatever, you have your sidecar in Trollminator, who, when he’s busy skipping class as a psychology student at State U, he’s either going to campus protest events or posting on letsrun, but definitely not creating jobs, paying huge taxes, or donating to the poor folks in the Carolinas:
“You know, some two years ago, back when many of us were saying Biden was toast and on a downward trajectory, we were castigated as crazy conspiracy theorists who read too much NY Post (I had a liberal friend tell me this, that I was a total conspiracy nut only to apologize after the debate and confess he didn’t realize how much the media acolytes and Biden administration were covering for the man), but that was the very time for you to 25th amendment him and run an actual primary. And run someone like Susan Rice, you know, an actual pedigreed, respectable African-American woman who I actually could’ve voted for. True story. Just like maybe you would find “mushroom cloud” Condi Rice palatable now versus Trump, amirite? Another respectable, credentialed, experienced African American woman.
So, in your hyper-partisan, seething, drooling pursuit of justice, you now might get neither justice nor a respectable candidate. You need look only in the mirror my friend. If it satiates you to keep calling me M.A.G.A. or to keep believing that somehow a simple moniker of make America great again is somehow racist, tone deaf, and not empiricist enough, then you are just very foolish.”
Now, I’ve already explained the story of my attorney wife who really did pull herself up by her bootstraps and has a much higher IQ that either you or me, trust me. And I’ve explained why she finds Harris so contemptible and a very poor role model. She did not vote for Trump in the primary, and I’m sure she would’ve found a Haley/Scott ticket digestible, as any candidate like Susan Rice. She at least respects Susan Rice. If we lived in PA, for example, she wouldn’t vote for Harris.
But in your world, that’s a M.A.G.A. vote because it’s not a vote for Harris. My wife also can see all the Kabuki Theatre and all the bull$hit that has been spun over the last four years, and she’s over it. Unlike her View/Oprah watching mother, she can see through it. And believe me, your condescension and your little sidecar’s rabid denigrating of anyone not gushing over Harris is definitely not going to curry favor for an actual swing state voter, so you might want to tell him to stop answering for you.

yeah it was peaceful, didn't have to worry about war and civilian deaths in 2019.
except you know, we were a nation at war, taking casualties
and
-Trump bombed Syria. -Trump also bombed Yemen. -Trump also bombed Somalia. -Trump dropped the "mother of all bombs" on Afghanistan and bragged about it. -Under Biden-Harris, fewer soldiers have died in combat than in any administration since Jimmy Carter. -Trump assassinated a foreign military leader. -In Iraq and Syria alone, Trump drone strikes killed an estimated 13,400 civilians, per Airwars. -Trump INCREASED troop levels in Afghanistan by 25%. -Trump bragged abt relaxing "rules of engagement" in Afghanistan, which nearly doubled civilian casualties. -Trump freed 5k Taliban, including the terrorist now running Afghanistan. -Trump pulled out of the INF Treaty. -Trump pulled out of the Open Skies Treaty. -Trump respects Putin's slaughter of Ukraine civilians, calling it "genius" and "savvy." Trump pulled out of the Iran nuke treaty, even though our military insisted Iran was complying. So any future Iranian nukes will be 100% thanks to Trump.

US employs lots of Israelis -- even in our own govt -- and Israel kills far more civilians than Hamas, Hezzbolla, and Russia.

So, it’s better to just massively subsidize and enable tectonic and massively destabilizing wars overseas than to actually be at war, even though that might be a natural consequence? Never took you for a NeoCon. Truth stranger than fiction.
By the way, Biden, if he wasn’t so feckless, could exert appropriate pressure on both Iran and Israel to de-escalate. But he’s incapable. He’s 25th amendment material and has been since late 2022. Tone matters. Tone on a sovereign border sending a message to another country’s president and tone on how you withdraw from a country matters.

well this is a complicated topic can't really do it on LRC.
look, Bibi has his own reasons for pushing for war. He wants to stay in office and out of jail, and he wants to fix his reputation, so damaged after the hamas invasion. He's safe if Israel is at war, so that poor nation will stay at war.
I'd argue that Iran has been fairly contained - they've lost Hezbollah, hamas has been wrecked, and Iran's two big attacks did little to no damage to israel. If trump hadn't greenlighted its nuke program by killing the iran deal, we'd be in much better shape of course.
the key is Saudi. One could argue that biden has done a brilliant job getting saudi to look the other way as the interests of its great rival Iran are destroyed one by one. If Saudi wanted, it could unleash hell on earth, in the form of terrorism against soft western targets like it did in 9/11. But Saudi has been a good ally, calming the waters. Good on Biden.
The world is not a formula. The US president has limited power overseas. POTUS must rely on alliances. Biden is doing just that, admirably. In both ukraine and israel.
Trump would blow up those alliances in a millisecond except for new alliances with tyrants who flatter him. Now THAT would unleash hell on earth.

It's amazing how "peaceful" Trump appeared to be when they weren't paying attention. Just like always they make excuses for him, ignore his vast faults and ultimately reject any sense of self in defending him.
Trump only asks that they put him above country, faith, family, morals, and common sense. Time and time again useful idiots like Sub 9:00 happily, ignorantly do just that.

yeah 9:00 defends this politics-mad preacher...the one who called Republicans Judases - the ones who put nation over party and voted to impeach Trump.
Disagree or agree with the impeachments, calling people who put nation over party - even if you disagree with them - "Judas" is inexcusable. It implies their loyalty is to Trump, not to the Constitution. They took an oath to defend the Constitution, not Donald Trump.
Shameful.

Donald Trump on Friday promoted a fake endorsement from JPMorgan Chief Executive Jamie Dimon, who has not taken a side in the US presidential election.

Who is making excuses for Trump? Not me. Ironic you use the word useful idiot, as your party relies on you. Just took a Russian history class in college did you, and now you can pretend you are part of the “intellectual” caste too, eh?

The message board is much more enjoyable when you don’t make it all about yourself.

Ok, for the record, I merely asked you if Graham was a liar and a con-man, and you clearly think the answer is yes and provide a very weak Newsweek article to corroborate your opinion. My question wasn’t as a politician but as a person on the ground who really doesn’t see help coming and sincerely wants to help.
It’s not really whether Trump’s offenses were impeachment material as, clearly, they were. It was whether anything Biden had done is worthy of impeachment and I would argue yes, and your “intellectual” response would be “well, then, you’re dumb and there’s no reason to carry on a conversation anymore.”
Based on your geopolitics response, you clearly have no problem with the Biden Crime Family syndicate in Ukraine, the massive corruption, and how the war was all but encouraged, because, well, you see Trump is the Manchurian candidate and the hookers and pee tapes were totally legitimate👆
I actually agree with your Israel-Iran retort, it was pretty well laid out, but this war need not have ever happened. Saudi Arabia was already “this close” to playing both sides diplomatically and peacefully.
