My kids go to a public school outside of the district we live in. A member of the school district board we live in is a friend and asked us why our kids don’t go to the neighborhood school and we told him it was because the administrators don’t allow teachers (like my in-laws) to discipline the students and the local schools can’t offer many advanced courses because they don’t have sufficient demand. This is not just a Chicago problem. This is a problem with countless city school districts across this nation. It is rooted in one thing: lowering standards for all to excuse the bad behavior of a few. Schools need to keep high standards and offer or require tutoring for those not meeting the standards.
This is why we need vouchers. Project 2025 has it right and the Department of Education is the biggest part of the problem.

Asheville and Boone will be almost back to normal by the time Election Day happens. APP State is starting classes back up on the 15th. Asheville University will start classes on the 28th. .Those are heavy democrat areas. I’ll be in Asheville in three weeks. Haven’t canceled that trip yet because I suspect things we’ll be better there by then. Some highways around Asheville will be down for a year but others are still open.

The rural areas where almost a million people live will not be back to normal and the vast majority of those people vote Republican. This Hurricane will significantly impacting voting for Trump in a state that he won by only 80k last time around.
