Think you are correct about the need to slightly refine your training but by IMO the tweaks needed are minor. You obviously have speed and need a little endurance. Why not add more cross training volume that is not Vo2Max centric? Running a weekly 20 minute tempo at 15% incline is kind on older legs but great for endurance. Just rambling and sure you have already considered this...
