USC- High academic university ….. Black Woman succeeded there !
Texas - High academic university …..multiple Black Women succeeded there !
I think Vandy will be in Great Hands !!!!!
End of debate
Caryl left USC in big part because she couldn't get many elite black male athletes she wanted admitted. Edrick left Stanford because he couldn't get the elite black athletes he wanted admitted. Sure SEC/Big XII money didn't hurt either but...ask them yourselves. And USC and Texas have a lot lower athletic admission standards than Vanderbilt does. Is the current admission system that is overly reliant on the SAT and to a lesser extent GPA rooted in systemic racism? Absolutely. Part of the reason why the University of California system is starting to abandon it. But it's still the system that the elite private institutions like Vanderbilt go by. All that said, good on Vanderbilt for hiring someone that the majority of the athletes in our sport can relate more to and to help change the culture at these types of institutions where black students typically don't feel very welcome. Especially at Vanderbilt. And just because she's a black sprints coach doesn't mean she's going to be stupid enough to try to beat the rest of the SEC at their own game.

The brainwashing is very real, and you're a victim of it. Racist.
You are a racist, Own it,
Andre Perry has written, “Standardized tests are better proxies for how many opportunities a student has been afforded than they are predictors for students’ potential.” This is right. While attempting to measure college-readiness, the SAT both mirrors and maintains racial inequity. There is also evidence that test scores are a less accurate predictor of subsequent Black and Hispanic or Latino performance.
Family income is a shockingly good predictor of standardized test performance—so to a significant extent, race gaps in test scores reflect race gaps in income and wealth inequality. Reducing income gaps in test scores would therefore almost certainly narrow race gaps as well. However, a recent analysis of the California system suggests that family income, parents’ education, and race each play a significant role in predicting SAT scores. Relying on a three-digit number to assess a student’s math ability clouds their drive, their resilience, and may impact their confidence in pursuing postsecondary education.
When taking into consideration race vs family income/or educational status, black consistently lag behind Asians and Mexicans.
With respect to crime: If you take into consideration race vs family income or educational status, the result is still the same. Blacks consistently commit more crime. This is a problem for the black community to solve. Until the facts are openly discussed and addressed, the status quo will remain the same. Black people need to clean up their own house before putting the blame on others.

So eastern Illinois needs a director actually. Erin Holworth could be up next as they like to hire within or from the alumni database. Multiple openings here.

Salary is only 50-55k a year, must be a distance assistant position. Otherwise, this is very low for a P5 position.
Heard the MSU distance job is a done deal. Former athlete.

Not necessarily. I know plenty of P5 assistant coaches who are the primary event coach who make that…or less. In far more expensive places to live than Minneapolis. You all keep forgetting that administrators do not care about our sport…even at most P5’s…especially at a place that tried cutting their men a year ago.

The jumps position that was recently filled was going for 50-55k. Seems the going rate for assistants.

sadly that’s what it is. The big money P5 assistant positions are usually in the SEC and big10 or schools that want to win. I’ve heard of head XC coaches at mid majors making 50k+ a year.
