By the way, my wife and I did exactly as you in the primary. You don’t have to like Trump at all or exonerate any of his sophomoric BS to really not like Harris and what she represents.
Give you an example of what I’m talking about — My wife came from a very underprivileged background with a very liberal, poor mother and no dad. She put herself through a no name undergrad while living at home and working almost full time. Got herself into a solid, not top 14, but solid law school with absolutely no help via legacy or AA type program, graduated at the top of her class without student loan forgiveness (about $360,000 in today’s dollars), paid off her debt in entirety, passed the bar the first time, and worked her butt off her entire career (50-60 hours each and every week) without exchanging sexual favors for career promotions.
So, on that basis alone, you can see why she wouldn’t respect a Harris, especially a Harris if we are talking about women’s rights in a patriarchal world. She thinks Harris is a very poor role model for women. None of us are in a position to judge her opinion or tell her she’s wrong. She uniquely has that opinion because she’s earned the right to it.
Now, is that an endorsement of Trump? Absolutely not. Don’t conflate the two things.
And hell, let's go ahead a make a direct comparison. Let's assume that your implication that Harris is a bona fide wh*** is fair. I'm not endorsing that argument, but we'll stipulate it.
How does that compare to the kid who got a few hundred million from daddy, and instead of doing any of the following:
1) Have a nice, honest career of his own.
2) Sit home living off the interest playing video games and jacking it.
3) Live off the interest and volunteer at the soup kitchen and animal shelter a lot....
INSTEAD decided to spend his life lying and cheating and being a horrible human being.
Really, does your super smart wife really think that Trump is Harris' ethical superior?
(Hint: He's not)
Nope. She doesn’t. Did I ever assert otherwise.
You might want to check your blood pressure my friend. And actually read.
How soon will the jobs report get revised down? It's happened several times in the past year.
I don't know, man. I don't know jack about the timing of revised jobs reports. If you find out the timing, let me know. I'm not going to look it up. I'm an extremely busy man. I don't have time to be looking up stuff that you could be looking up yourself. Go find out when the revised jobs report is coming out and report back here. Jesus Christ.
Hey, genius, see my next post, and then look in the mirror and ask yourself the same question. Or are you ill equipped to understand nuance and introspection?
Oh, I need to sit around and wait for your next dissertation to destroy your argument? No, I don't, and I didn't.
Translation: You and your wife should EASILY decide to vote against Trump.
When you don't, you've failed both civically, ethically, and morally.
Again, genius, I’m not voting for Trump. Nor am I voting for Harris. It doesn’t matter because I live in a firmly blue state, but I don’t respect either one. But, I can just recognize hypocrisy when I see it. Clearly you can’t.
I don’t know why my wife not respecting Harris (which she’s absolutely earned the right to perhaps more than anyone else on this board) offends you so…
Meanwhile, FEMA is essentially begging for more money now too to help w Helene because of Ukraine/Israel/illegal immigration funding?
Serious, not snarky (this time) question: Does funding for Ukraine, Israel, and illegal immigration come from the FEMA budget? I believe that Congress sets FEMA's budget, but is it a budget line that includes more than just FEMA?

The vast majority of people who are here illegally want nothing other than to work and support themselves and their families. To do that, they try to fly under the radar as much as possible.
The last thing in the world they want to do is draw the attention of the police/government by voting illegally, or doing anything illegal. That may be why the crime rate involving people here illegally is lower than the overall crime rate, despite FOX's best efforts to convince people otherwise.
[L]et’s talk about the coup you just pulled on the sitting president whose solemn oath was to the American people who duly elected him, not to his party. Had you gone through proper channels and used the 25th amendment to jettison him because you’ve been hiding just how bad off he is, then, fine, that is acceptable protocol. But what you did was a subversion of Democracy with a moral equivalency to however you’re characterizing 1/6, so it’s incredibly disingenuous to talk about one and not the other.

I take your point and it’s a shell game. What was so off-putting about the “bi-partisan” border bill in the 9th inning after ignoring it for all of the game prior and exacerbating/encouraging the problem was the Israel/Ukraine “pork” funding in addition to the toothlessness of the bill. That’s why it got shot down, and I’m glad it got shot down. Congress and the executive branch not having any accountability to the American people and willy nilly spending borrowed money is getting really old and represents the true “existential” threat.
But all the millennials on here and younger who just.can’t.get.past.J6 are too blind and groupthinked out to recognize it.

Magoo? Is it really you? Where the hell have you been, brother?
It's awful out there, Mano. You can feel the angst and hate when you are out in commerce. And I'm not just talking MAG@ vs. everyone else. I'm talking blacks vs. whites, blacks vs. Asian, blacks vs. Jews, elites vs. commoners, suburbs vs. urbans, rural vs. cities, criminals vs. taxpayers, taxpayers vs. nons, public vs. private. We've always been a country of hustlers and winners, but now we're a country of fear. No one can trust anyone anymore. The country has never been this full of hate and resentments. It will never recover. No matter who wins this election, the hate and distrust will grow until who knows what happens.

You're wrong about the border bill. It would have hurt Trump and helped Biden politically, and Trump killed it.
The parts of the bill that provided aid to Israel and Ukraine were never the problem. In fact, after Trump shot the border bill down, Congress passed a bill providing the very same aid to Israel and Ukraine that was in the border bill.
Although the bill may not have been perfect, it was not toothless. It allowed for shutting the border under certain circumstances. It would have imposed "the most significant changes in U.S. immigration and border security in decades." It was described by Senator Lankford (R - OK) as the most conservative border security bill in 4 decades. The head of the union representing Border Patrol agents strongly endorsed the bill.
If Trump was President when that border bill was negotiated it, he would have signed it in a second, and then claimed all the credit for securing the border. But he put politics before the good of the country.
The Senate on Tuesday passed a long-delayed $95 billion package with wide bipartisan support after both sides of Capitol Hill have struggled for months to send aid to Ukraine, Israel and Taiwan.
I get preferring Harris over Trump. What I don’t get is pretending that Harris is some great shakes. She isn’t, she’s pretty awful.
Okay, I can go with this. To re-use Joe's line, don't compare her to the Almighty but to the alternative.
Not a Dem myself but Manhattan, NYC, is certainly awash with them, and I remember that in 2020 I didn't encounter a single one who was genuinely enthusiastic about Biden--aside from his being not-Trump.
In retrospect, they probably should have been fans of Joe: He brought great experience and connections to the job, and he ended up getting a lot done. Some of us may not like all the things he got done, but it's difficult to gainsay the productivity, and historians are already rating him as one of the better presidents--ahead of, among many others, one Barack Hussein Obama.
I think Harris will also be voted for, almost entirely, because she's not-Trump. TBH I don't expect her to be a great POTUS--but then, most people didn't expect that of Biden either. So I'll keep an open mind, if she wins, and see how she operates. I granted Trump the same presumption of competence when he won in 2016.
I wish a Vance, instead of being an apologist, would just simply say, look, 1/6 happened, I can understand why it was appalling, I don’t condone it or exonerate it, I’m sure Trump would handle it differently if he could go back . . .
JD Vance calls out Kamala Harris: she once pushed for $1,000 COVID relief checks for illegal immigrants, yet offers only $750 to American storm victims. Priorities should be helping our citizens in times of crisis!pic.twitter.com/2bAmxgohc1

no one in this nation should EVER 'get past' J6
Ever. It was a fundamental breach in the social contract and history of the United States.
it was the first ever non-peaceful transfer of power and the first and only attempt to overthrow a presidential election.
A more serious nation would never forget or forgive and would expel anyone involved from public life forever.

I don't think the 13,000 convicted murderers here illegally and the 15,000 convicted sexual assaulters here illegally are looking to work and to support their families.

As much as Trump supporters whine about the Democrats turning us into a third world country, we've never been closer to being a third world country than on January 6, 2021.
