PSA: don't waste your time on these MAGA idiots. Roche could cure cancer and they'd accuse him of having invented cancer in the first place in order to enrich himself. The criticisms are so wildly absurd as to be not worth any rational person's time (as I eventually figured out). It's like arguing with Russian trolls, which, well, basically it is.
But you're right. He has a golden ticket, he is using these as training races that he can drive to, and he has a newborn and a toddler so it's not like he and his wife are going to want to travel a bunch if they can avoid it. You're arguing with losers who can't get women to even look at them, let alone start a family with. So this is all outside their conception.

Don't bring that up. I got banned from his Instagram for suggesting he should undergo testing if he was going to set all the records and win all the wins he was planning for this year. Particularly if he's going for a world record. Why not show all his supporters that he's clean and can't be question by the clucking hens here on LetsRun? Apparently... that suggesting is so offensive he couldn't bare to see that question lingering on his feed or the name of the person who posted it.
This Moana dude is probably a Roche alter-ego who needs to come by when the chatter gets low to stoke the flames a bit.
The real question is -- Is it more impressive to win a race against no one, or to set an "FKT" no one cares about (but then lose a few days later)?
Do you think he microdoses Ozempic? He probably needs it about as much as he needs his albuterol prescription, but he can use it in the name of science. He is the mad scientist of trail running! Even though he doesn't perform any experiments, conduct any research, or even come up with a single unique theory. He reads other people's stuff and copies that. But hey, he can talk likes he's the expert on those podcasts that give these clowns a platform.
I don't have a point anymore. So, I'll just remind everyone the Roche's are lying, inauthentic scumbags. Huzzah. Love you all. So fun.

Damn dude with a roast like that no wonder I've never been over your house for dinner. I know you're only like a buck fifty, but put some change into your diss!
lol@David on the latest podcast saying he could win CCC but doesn't do packs or mandatory gear. The delusion is real.. Don't think he's ever even raced in the Alps? The vert and humidity alone would destroy this Colorado boy and he'll twist his ankle at the first steep decline whether he's wearing a pack or not. And no way he'd beat Francesco Puppi that dude has won every race he entered this year.

Sure, he dropped out of a mediocre US 50k because he couldn't even get sniffing distance to the podium, but he wins CCC.
Sub-4 mile. 13:00 5k. CCC champ. His unproven abilities are truly impressive.
Maybe he will have another brief moment and honesty at some point, like when he said he never actually thought he’d win WSER, and admit it’s all bullsh1t.

He absolutely thinks he can win. And hopes he can win. And prays he can win. But he won't win. And I don't even think he will finish. Because the moment it gets hard and Jim or Kilian or whoever else makes him realize how full of crap he is, he will give up.

Lol, you MAGA-tards making sh-t up again. It's hilarious how rent-free he lives in your pea-sized brains. You gulp up his content -- hint, you're making him money, which for a guy who owns you and you are obsessed with slandering on this site, probably not a smart move -- then use your 3 brain cells to post on here with your latest lying BS.
For the few rational people who might happen on this thread, this whole thread is a pathetic and ironically hilarious MAGA-driven attempt to take-down a guy they don't like. Literally every accusation has been debunked.
Ok, moron, he actually has raced in the Alps. He has been very self-deprecating about having finished near-last at a UTMB race about 8 years ago.
And Apple Podcasts generates a searchable transcript so it took me 10 seconds to search "CCC" and read what Roche said about CCC. He didn't say he would win it, he said "I'd have a better chance of winning CCC than Western States." Which if you weren't too busy slandering the guy, you'd know that he has said that his chances of winning Western States are a moonshot because, among other guys, Walmsley and Jornet will be there and he knows they are better than he is.
Roche doesn't even have a UTMB index at the moment. For ANY distance. Nada. He wouldn't even get into CCC. But yeah.. better chance of winning it than Western States. Umm noo should maybe listen to the podcast to hear him boast before defending him
According to UTMB he ran Zermatt Marathon in 2015 and finished 35th male. That's the closest I could find. Lots of DNFs and sub par performances in his UTMB race list.

*with 'the closest' I was referring to the Alps location wise. He's obviously done more races with a UTMB index since 2015, notably he was 5th at 100k Canyons in 2023 (before umm noo wants to split hairs again he can visit the UTMB website and look at all of David's races that would have gotten him an index but afaik those points only count a limited time (2?years) and since he DNFed the last two races he would have gotten a UTMB index (Big Alta and Grindstone) he has none at all at the moment.. it's pretty typical for 'elites' to DNF a UTMB race rather than receive a 'bad' UTMB index score..)
If you bothered to do even a little research you would know that in the last podcast episode David was indeed back to making wild claims, most notably: (a) he could win CCC, (b) his Big Alta DNF is now due to sickness and not an ankle roll, and (c) a very Trump-esque* claim that his Leadville win would have netted him the highest UTMB Index score in history if that race assigned points.
* Lots of people have said it. He’s not saying it, but other people have said it.
