Kimberly Graham-Miller has been named the head track and field coach for UC San Diego.
Looks like she had been an sprint assistant at Sacramento St. for the past 8 years or so.
Only 1 year into a 4 year D1 transition period (team can't even participate at the conference meets), I thought making a splash with the coaching hire (like Cal Poly) or even any high profile recruits would be very difficult in the near future, and the opening therefore could be a great opportunity for someone that might not be on the radar for other D1 openings.
Three years from now I could see this program being VERY attractive however, given the location and facilities. I'd think the program could get to the level of say Boise State once fully transitioned to D1 and the right coaching in place.
UC San Diego Director of Athletics Earl W. Edwards has announced the hiring of former Olympic gold medal-winner Kim Graham-Miller as the new head track & field coach
He will continue coaching our BTC professional athletes and will expand his coaching responsibilities this fall to an additional generation of athletes.
Our team is in the process of innovating and adapting to this next step in the Bowerman Track Club journey.
You sound pretty limited with the name calling and advices. What’s worst; creating a token situation, or pointing it out?
In regard to Hadsell, he had a consensual relationship with a student-athlete that seemed tolerated by the administration at the time. Yet he won Championships, took the cross team to the NCAAs and his team score top 3 outdoor track at the Conference.
Grove however, shunned off half of the team so she can brag that she’s the best cross country/ distance coach in the MAC. Results are far from Toledo best days. In regard to the recruiting class, only people in her own disturbed inner circle take that seriously. Poor thing hasn’t touch an NCAA point in over a decade. No relevance at that level whatsoever. Learn from past and present!
Back to jobs.
Kevin, we get it, you think you’re the greatest coach in NCAA history and should be allowed to have sex with your athletes as a reward. You’re never going to coach another team again, move on with your life and get back to modeling your hands in commercials for a living.

Dear Clown - sounds like you have some unresolved issues you may want to seek help with. I believe that Mr. Barbaro has moved along and I s doing quite well with his career, and the fact he still follows and supports our great sport is good. Find something more productive to put this energy into - it can surely be better served
Smith tree? You have to help me with who Smith is? Googling Smith and track isn’t a winner. But if I were looking to capitalize on local talent I might look for ESL connections?
I was thinking Buford Bailey. She was a big loss when she left for Texas. Not there anymore and there’s always a difference between a successful assistant and a successful head coach.
Smith is referring to the Ole Miss throws coach. He was the throws coach at SIUC and was pretty dominant there, especially on the women's side.

I asked earlier and haven't seen it answered yet.. Anyone know what happened to James Snyder at Temple?
Left caoching. Focusing on family
That's only half the story. The women's team was really struggling and most of them were injured at the end of cross country and indoors. They weren't happy and they expressed it. If he didn't leave on his own, he would have been canned.
Its all one big juco job unless its power 5 any way. Goodluck training up your kids only for them to enter the transfer portal. The mac is a zombie conference as are many other. Dunno what all the arguing on the thread is for
